Life, Corn, and Democracy
Aug. 10th, 2005 07:29 pmI had an interesting visit from my friend Dan today. For those who arn't familar with Dan (Better known as Shoeless Dan), Dan graduated from the University of the Pacific last year with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in Economics (see: almost).
He's an intelligent, insightful young man with a good head on his shoulders and a bright future. Or at least this is the impression I had when I saw him graduate. Now, a couple months later, I find him with more than his fair share of problems, a weeks worth of stubble, and as optimistic an outlook on life as ever. So, in much the same manner as I imagine philosophers have been doing since the age of Plato and Socrates, I invited him over for lunch and a drink.
I showed him the new place (I'll post pics eventually, I promise) and we ran some errands together. This is where my adventures in Life, Corn, and Democracy begin. I promise you that all of them are incorporated.
( The rest of the story is history... )
Help me out here, folks. XD
Now, I'm heading out to watch, "The Waking Life". It sounds very intriguing.
