Chip off the old politics

A rave in Utah last night was shut down by the military.
The disregaurd for civil rights was obscene. Tear gas was tossed at the crowd, dogs were released, and the cavalcade of ravers which were trying to peacefully exit the area were escorted out at gun point.

The worst part was this was a 100% LEGAL gathering. Permits, licenses, and the whole dirty mess of red tape.

This is disgraceful. I havn't been so dissapointed in the government in a long while.

Can some of the folks out in Utah please give me a call or get ahold of me? I'm wondering if you guys have heard anything about this.

I've googled and followed links. Watched the footage from the helicopter and the 16Mb mov.
I've forwarded the many links I found to NewsReal. I'd say it's quite likely they'll run it. Probably be on-air Thursday (as shows are recorded the night before).
The show's currently mirrored on about 7 different web-radio stations, and has a lot of listeners. This'll get spread pretty far.

Just got an email back saying it'll be on wednesdays show. Must have caught him at just the right time.
Be warned, he can have some odd opinions, but is one of the good-guys. I imagine he'll probably analyse the hard-facts of the operation and all the points it screwed up (such as the fact it went ahead). But we shall see.
Just tune into the RantRadio Talk stream at ..well, whatever time it translates to you. It's at 5pm here. "9AM & 9PM PT" the site says. Pacific Time?

It'd be show 167, Wednesday August 24, 2005. IIRC, it was the last story of the show. Didn't get as much bile as I'd hoped, but the forums went nuts.
